I think that the weather has been the most popular topic of this whole camp!! For once it's not just small talk "so how's the weather" but it's LEGIT! It's probably one of the most important factors for training. Especially with all of the rain that we have been getting, the anticipation for good weather is HIGH and we are ready for some sun and ICE! Yesterday was total buzzkill after we were on hold for 3 hours (lots of coffee....) and then headed up and fre
eskiied some GS for an hour.... Even though it was nice to finally get up there and do some turns, it wasn't quite what we were hoping for.
So today we got the sun. And some pow. Not that powder is a bad thing, but for training it's not exactly stellar. But we made good use of the soft surface and ended up having a great day on the hill! I did some SCHLALOMing with Tessa from Sweden and Fanny from Germany. It was cool. Fun to hang out in the summer with the girls race against all winter.
Other than that I have been chugging coffee. Brigitte and I took our technician Martin out for some sushi and sake last night to say THANKS for all the sweet tuning and for his amazingly mellow attitude that we think ROCKS. Unfortunately after a few little cups of sake I decided it would be a good idea to facebook a ton of people. So there were some funny and awkward moments on the hill this morning, but totally worth a couple laughs.
Awkward is good.
I am diogressing. Hopefully the sun keeps shining and we get the hard surface we need for our LAST 2 DAYS! the countdown is ON! I am off to gorge myself on Marcel's (our chef man's) yummy food. I predict its lasagna.
Aurevoir until soon.
