AND its over........ up next: Closing Ceremonies and SURGERY

I can't believe it's already over!! Such a huge build up over the last 2 months of Physio and rehab for this ONE DAY!! It was all totally worth it.  I definitely felt a little rusty in the first run, but I think I attacked pretty well in the second and I came away with 19th place.  Although it's my "worst" result of the season, I never even expected to be able to race, so I'm still really proud of what I did without my ACL!

THE FANS WERE AMAZING!!! I was totally unprepared at how awesome the Canadian fans would be!! I've never been cheered for so LOUDly!
I snapped a couple shots of Brigitte in the finish!!
THE AMAZING CANADIAN FANS!!!  Proud to be Canadian!

I went and watched Cousi, Mike, Trevor and Brad in the mens slalom!!!
And I saw some funny mascot things!! ha
And then we had some post-race fun!!  With some of the Swedish team!
I want to join the HOT TUB CLUB!! hahaha
Anyway, goodbye Whistler!! It's been an amazing experience.
Oh ya, we ran into some of the ATTACKING VIKINGS!! Looking very spiffy!! Nice guys.
AND I am ready to get out of this rain cloud!!!
I just want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone everywhere who supported me on this interesting journey.  Hopefully next time I have my ACL and I'll be going for the podium! We are heading to CLOSING CEREMONIES tonight!! YAY!!  And then surgery on the 4th followed by 6 months of rehab before getting back on snow.  Not sure how I feel about that, but I'm pumped for the closing ceremonies tonight with the GIRLS!!!

A day at the Olympics....

The days leading up to the race....
Train on the OFFICIAL Olympic Training hill, accredited athletes ONLY!! haha Erin and Brigitte and "flat Peyton" are pumped.
Before getting started, STRETCH!
and VISUALIZE!
And enjoy the almost sunrise!!!
Check out the RACE HILL!! (and cheer on the GS boys and girls!!)
Rock out the new clothing!
Lookin almost like "Kenny" from South Park....
Me and Bri and our furry hoods.
The Girls have their second run of GS tomorrow and so far so good!!! Hopefully the weather cooperates and they get a good race!
I had my Television highlight of the Olympics last night watching Joannie Rochette's short program skate.  It was so emotional and she was so courageous and I have never felt so moved watching a fellow athlete's performance.
And the GOLDs keep coming!! Clara Hughes had an amazing skate today for the bronze, that one seemed really special as well.  She AMAZES ME!!! Every medal our country gets is sweet, but some of the athletes' performances just really stand out for me!  Can't wait to be out there doing my thing!! Soon enough!!

Day 2 of the Olympics!

Day 2 of the Olympics!!
Another beautiful day in the mountains!!
You can see an array of different countries getting ready for training behind Brigitte!
I even met Kwame the "Snow Leopard from Ghana"! He was super nice!!!
And Brigitte's Niece's friend's cutout doll came with us on the hill today!! With her GOLD MEDAL!
On our way down we ran into some of the amazing volunteers, moving the Downhill start to the Giant Slalom start for tomorrow's men's race!
Later that day, a bunch of us headed to Whistler Village and scoped out some of the sights!! I posed with the RINGS!
And Brigitte and I hit up every poser painting we could find!!! Here we are friends with a bear!
I am a dead mounted Deer! And Brigitte is a poser skier.
Now we are SNOWWOMEN! yay.

OLYMPICS!

At the OLYMPICS!
We arrived in Whistler yesterday!  And got ACCREDITED!
Took the "people mover"
Brigitte posing on the "people mover"
Checked out the finish area and the sweet green Olympic Rings..
After settling into our Condo near the base of the race, I headed out to town for dinner with Marco and experienced a hilarious "impromptu dance party" in the streets!!! There were crazy outfits, boomboxes and people dancing everywhere!! It was awesome!
After experiencing a little bit of the crazy cool Olympic Vibe in town, I headed up the hill this morning and had a great day of slalom skiing with some French, American and Italian girls!
This process has been up and down, but today was a great day on snow, and a BEAUTIFUL day to be outside enjoying the fresh air of Whistler!
It was sweet to see Mike have an awesome slalom run in the combined today!! Can't wait to get back on snow tomorrow!
