BEAR LAKE!!!

Montreal camp wrapped up last Friday and I hopped on a plane to Salt Lake Saturday, rallied to Bear Lake (with a quick stop at Walmart for some tie-dye and XXL marshmallows) to meet up with part of the Beaverfest / Smith river crew!  It was sooo nice to get outside, sit by the fire, roast my XXL marshmallows and hang out with fun people!

Upon my arrival I wasn't quite convinced that I would see anymore fall colours after leaving the East... but little by little the colourful trees started appearing!! Just like at home.... sort of.
While the others were out extreme kayaking and moto-ing, marco and I made our way up to the Minnetonka Caves which were locked. cool.
we checked out the foliage instead...

 colours!

 this one's for MP!

Like my love for birches, I also love Aspens!!!!

 make like an Aspen.
 PLANK!

Since our Minnetonka cave expedition was a fail, we just roamed around and enjoyed the colours of fall!
UNTIL I GOT ATTACKED BY A MASSIVE TUMBLEWEED!
I put it in it's place.
What better way to finish off a relaxing day outdoors than with afternoon tie-dying!!! I think Shannon wins with her moto glove!
Her shirt started out looking awesome, until it got rained on all night and ended up as a dark massive dyed mess.... BUT it really had potential! Plus double glove....
 THanks guys!!!!

we work out a lot too!

I never really have pictures from in the gym working out because I'm too busy and focused to take any!! haha! But for real, I don't really get inspired to take pictures of concrete walls and massive plates of iron and sweaty, sweaty people.  But today was an exception, since we were doing intervals I figured there could maybe be some INTENSE photo ops!   We spend so much of our time in gyms, so here's a taste of what goes down at the gym.....

 between intervals-posing.
 And......that's it.
beautiful, yes.

Anyway, we cruised downtown for a bit after and visited Anna and Julie and Xavier!!!
 Graffiti levitation...
that's all.

We've been training hard this week in Montreal but had some time off this afternoon and decided to go APPLE PICKING. woooohooo. As I type, Mitch and I have some apple sauce simmering, some apple chips baking, and an apple muffin recipe in the process of being made! YUM!
which one to choose...... EMPIRE wins. tastiest by far!
Eve's getting extreme with the LADDER.
 apples everywhere.
 apple toss!
 not staged!

 heart.
 ahhh fall. you are nice.

Happy Thanksgiving CANADA.

The colourful weekend has flown by and tonight it's already time for some TUrkey dinner and tomorrow we are back in the gym!!  To top off the weekend, I woke up early this morning and headed up Blueberry hill, the mist was still clinging to the base of the hills, and the colours were poking through.  It was amazing, and I didn't even bring my camera!! I kind of wish I had, but at the same time it was nice to just enjoy the moment.

Anyway here are tons of pics from the weekend!! I even got crazy and made a panoramic one. yeah.  View of Lake Tremblant.
MP and I went on a 3 hour kayak mission.  Getting our arms jacked so that our starts will be faster!!
 so craaaazzzayyyyy
We paddled up the Cachee, until we could paddle no more... and then we ditched the boats and explored for a while.
 pretty leaves!
We ended the tour with some SWIMMING in chilly refreshing water.
 oh canada

 sunset.
HOW AMAZING does this look!! It was THAT amazing... mmmmm nothing beats crepes and real maple syrup!

 HELLO YELLOW.
Montreal training camp starts tomorrow... gotta mentally prepare for TRAFFIC jams and stuff, but I feel pretty well rested to get back into some iron pumping.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING CANADA!

hello fall!

For the past few years I've missed the fall colours because of ski camps.... so this year when I saw our schedule I was overjoyed that I would be able to spend part of fall in Tremblant in the middle of the woods and colourful leaves!!  Apparently I missed the "peak" last weekend, but this weekend is still very beautiful, sunny, and colourful!!! I can't wait to go exploring today!!! Kayaking and hiking are on the schedule... but first, here's a taste of what's up.
I only arrived up north yesterday because I spent 3 days at home doing NOTHING.  And by nothing I really mean NOTHING. I barely left the house, I procrastinated from reading with just staring, and I CHILLED.  Although my book (the 2nd Game of Thrones) is awesome, I was still too lazy to even just read it.  Anyway, I snapped out of it last night when I arrived up here.  It just shows how much ski-camps at altitude really take everything out of you.  I pushed really hard until the last run on the last day and then I CHILLED.
So, while procrastinating from staring, I decided to organize my old desk, see what needed to go, and de-clutter my life!! I stumbled upon (THE REAL LIFE VERSION! haha ie. stumbleupon.com) some gems from the past.  Here's my "ski journal" from 2003 in Les Deux Alpes..... I was already a coffee-addict, and I seemed to be working on basically the same things as back then!!
 Another sweet stumble-upon find.
AND Tremblant!!! At sunset, the colours and the lake were beautiful.
early morning dew on spider webs.....
 mist clinging to the lake.
but slowly getting burned away by the sun!!
It's gonna be a beautiful day!!!!!
